A cable distribution box is a device used for tapping, branching, splicing, and circuit switching of cable lines, mostly applied outdoors. While ensuring the connection between power cables, it can also disconnect the operating cable lines in certain situations to facilitate the maintenance of cable lines and downstream electrical equipment. At present, it is widely used in the project of converting 10kV overhead transmission lines to underground laid cable lines in cities, which requires it to be safe and reliable, maintenance-free, fully insulated and fully enclosed, with multiple branches, small and beautiful appearance, low price, etc.
Using multiple small-cross-section cables on a relatively long line often leads to waste of cable resources. Therefore, when supplying power to electrical loads, a main large-cross-section cable is usually used for outgoing lines. Then, when approaching the loads, a cable distribution box is used to split the main cable into several small-cross-section cables, which are connected to the loads. This wiring method is widely used for power supply to street lamps and small users in urban power grids.
It is also a supporting device for the cable-based transformation of urban power grids. It can be installed outdoors, indoors, or in buried locationss, and can connect power cables with box-type substations, load switch cabinets, fuse combination electrical cabinets, ring network power supply units, etc., playing the role of tapping, branching, relaying, or switching, and providing great convenience for cable networking.
